How To Find Content Ideas Your Audience Craves Instantly
A step-by-step guide to using GummySearch to extract real problems your audience wants solved
Finding content ideas is hard.
You’re always wondering what to create next. The content treadmill never stops, and guessing what your audience wants rarely works.
In an earlier article, I showed you how to use Reddit and AI to come up with content ideas.
If you’re not sure how Reddit works, I’ll advise you to check it out first.
In that article, we used Perplexity to find relevant subreddits where our ideal readers hang out. We then used specific keywords to mine those subreddits and find pain points we could solve.
While that’s super helpful, it’s not very efficient.
For example, a solopreneur might discuss their problems in these subreddits:
r/Entrepreneurship
r/Solopreneur
r/Entrepreneur
r/SaaS
r/business
Mining these individual subreddits for content ideas manually wastes your time and energy.
So, I started researching tools to make this process easier and that’s when I stumbled across GummySearch.
It brings all the discussions happening in the relevant subreddits together and uses AI to find interesting problems to solve and content to create.
For example, it allows us to ask questions like these:
Let me show you the exact system I use to find pain points my ideal audience faces and the AI prompt I use to convert them into article ideas.
Note: Some features shown in this article are part of GummySearch’s paid plans, which start at $29/month. In my experience, the time savings and quality of content ideas quickly justify the investment.
What is GummySearch and Why Should You Care?
GummySearch is the ultimate Reddit research assistant.
Instead of manually searching through countless subreddits, it automates the discovery process and organizes the most valuable discussions for you.
The platform automatically:
Identifies the most relevant subreddits for your specific audience
Aggregates discussions across multiple communities
Categorizes conversations by type (pain points, solution requests, hot discussions, etc.)
Organizes everything into a searchable, filterable dashboard
For writerpreneurs, this means spending less time on research and more time creating the content your audience actually wants.

Don’t Start With a Topic, Start With an Audience
Most content research starts with topics. GummySearch flips this approach by starting with your audience.
For example:
Topic-first approach: “I need content ideas about latest AI tools”
Result: Generic articles that compete with thousands of similar pieces
Audience-first approach: “I need to understand what solopreneurs struggle with while using AI tools for their business”
Result: Discovering they’re specifically frustrated with inconsistent output
By the way, this is a real pain point that GummySearch surfaced:
This audience-first insight leads to much more specific content like “How To Generate High Quality Output from X Tool Consistently" — content that stands out because it addresses a real, specific pain point.
Your 30-Minute Reddit Mining System
Step 1: Define Your Audience
Sign up for GummySearch (use code DEEPWRITING

Once you log in, you’ll be taken to the Audiences dashboard.
The goal here is to find all the relevant Subreddits where your target audience might hang out, and combine them into a GummySearch Audience.
For example, to create an audience of solopreneurs. I go ahead and type “Solopreneurs” in the search bar and click on “Find Communities”.
It then lists out the relevant subreddits:
Next, add a few more keywords your target audience might mention. The more keywords you add, the more dialed in your results will get.
For example, to create the audience of solopreneurs, I used the keywords
Solopreneurs
Entrepreneurs
Online Business
I recommend adding 2-4 keywords relevant to your audience.
Now, go ahead and select the relevant subreddits.
If you’re unsure what a particular subreddit is about, click on the 3 dots and select “Show More Details”.
This will expand the description and allow you to understand what the subreddit is about.
Don’t worry. You can always add/remove subreddits from your audience later.
Once you’ve selected the relevant subreddits, click on “Create Audience”.
Step 2: Extract Pain Points and Questions
Payoff time!
With your audience defined, you’re now ready to discover exactly what problems they’re discussing.
Click on the audience you just created and GummySearch will take you to the audience dashboard.
Click on “Themes”.
Here, you’ll find discussions neatly categorized into:
Hot Discussions: Topics that are trending currently
Top Content: Topics that performed well the last month
Pain & Anger: Frustrations and challenges your audience is actively discussing
Advice Requests: Help people are seeking
Solution Requests: People actively seeking tools or resources
To extract the best content ideas:
Click on the “Pain & Anger” filter.
GummySearch will summarize the pain points your target audience is facing.
Let’s go a level deeper. Click on “Ask” and type in the exact question:
“What are the pain points solopreneurs face using AI?”
And watch GummySearch fetch the exact pain points your target audience is facing:
In just minutes, you’ll uncover dozens of specific problems your audience actually wants solved — each one a potential content idea that could fill your calendar for weeks.
Isn’t that crazy?
Now, take any of the pain points and convert it into 15 potential article ideas using the following prompt:
